Kopia Backup — Terms of Service
Terms of service for the rustcircle Kopia backup app on Google Drive
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms apply to rustcircle Kopia Backup (“the app”), a Google Cloud OAuth client operated by Pedro Jorge (pmrj@rustcircle.com) and used with Kopia and rclone to store backups on Google Drive.
1. Purpose and eligibility#
The app exists solely for my personal use, to back up my own data to my own Google Drive. It is not a public service and no one else is permitted to use it.
2. Google account#
Using the app requires a Google account and acceptance of Google’s own Terms of Service. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
3. Privacy#
How the app handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use#
The app may only be used to store, verify and restore backups. It may not be used to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, or to abuse Google’s services or quotas.
5. No warranty#
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Kopia and rclone are third-party open-source tools governed by their own licences.
6. Limitation of liability#
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss of data, interruption or damage arising from use of the app. Keep independent copies of anything important.
7. Changes and termination#
These terms may change at any time; changes are published on this page with a new date. The app may be discontinued at any time.
8. Governing law#
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.
